The township is a vibrant and exciting place to visit and a great chance to get a bit of insight into some of the more traditional Namibian cultures.

Starting in the city centre, we first explore Christ Church, Ink Palace, Parliament Gardens, and the Old Fort, learning about both the history of Windhoek and Namibia and how it was establish, to how it is today from everything from the social to the political.
From the city centre, we then make our way through the suburbs and into Katutura where we can feel the buzz of the township. This area is a live with more than 1/2 of Windhoek’s populations living here. We visit the local market, known as the ‘Single Quarters’ where we can try some local delicacies from mopane worms to kapana, before driving deeper into the township area. We then visit Penduka, a women’s craft initiative started to offer unskilled women the chance to earn a living and support their families.
